In addition to his experience at Travis, Odom has served as an Assistant Football Coach and Head Boys Track Coach at Katy High School in Katy ISD. During his tenure as an Assistant Football Coach at Katy High School, Odom was a member of two State Championship coaching staffs (2000 and 2012). Prior to coaching at Katy High School, he was the Middle School Athletic Coordinator and named A+ Teacher of the Year for Lufkin ISD. Odom has also coached football at Conroe Oak Ridge, Katy Morton Ranch and Diboll High School. In addition, he served as a Junior High Assistant Principal in Katy ISD for three years.

Coach Odom received his Master of Education and Bachelor of Social Work from Stephen F. Austin State University. He was letterman for the Lumberjack Football team from 1993 through 1996.

Coach Odom and his wife, Kathy, have been married 23 years and have two sons, Trey, a senior at University of Houston, and Trent, a High School Freshman.

"My family and I feel very blessed and honored to be a part of the Sweeny ISD family. I look forward to continuing the Bulldog tradition of success and cannot wait to meet the student athletes and get to work", Coach Clayton Odom.

“We wish Coach Odom and the Travis Tigers the best of luck in their current playoff run and look forward to welcoming him to the Bulldog family in January”, Dr. Tory C. Hill, Sweeny ISD Superintendent.
