March 16, 2021 - Sweeny ISD has won a 2021 ClassLink Award of Excellence for Outstanding Remote Learning Enablement!

Sweeny ISD was selected amongst 1,750 school districts across the nation for Outstanding Remote Learning Enablement.  This Award of Excellence celebrates school systems with exceptional achievements in key practice areas that increase student success, including implementation, growth, engagement, and remote learning.

This particular award recognizes school systems with the largest jump in unique student users on the ClassLink platform from the beginning of the spring 2020 remote learning period into the fall of 2020.

Sweeny ISD was recognized for winning this award at a virtual ceremony held during the inaugural ClassLink Conference (CLON) on February 25th.

“On behalf of everyone at ClassLink, I would like to congratulate your entire school community on winning this award. Your incredible commitment to continued learning during an exceptional time in education is inspiring,” said George Perreault Chief Academic Officer, Classlink.

Due to the partnership with ClassLink, Sweeny ISD was able to pivot Sweeny Connected Virtual Learning at the onset of the pandemic.  Since that time, the district has continued to enhance online systems to meet the ever-changing needs of students, teachers, and families during these unique times.

“Sweeny ISD is beyond excited about this recognition that our teachers have earned.  Likewise, we are thrilled to have Amber Stowers, Coordinator of Instructional Technology and Academic Services, leading the Sweeny Connected Virtual Learning experience. Due to these collaborative efforts, Sweeny ISD students have experienced optimal learning through the use of robust virtual tools,” said SISD Superintendent, Dr. Tory Hill.
