Sweeny ISD Installs Air Disinfection Devices

Indoor Air Quality Technology for Students and Staff

Sweeny, TX – August 31, 2021

Sweeny Independent School District is partnering with Protect|Education to install air disinfection devices in all its classrooms. These devices use patented NanoStrike™ technology to help reduce harmful microorganisms in the air.

Used worldwide in education, healthcare, and commercial settings, NanoStrike™ technology is the leader in delivering healthier indoor environments. Developed over 10 years ago, NanoStrike™ technology will become part of Sweeny ISD’s air and surface disinfection protocol to help provide healthier indoor environments for students and staff.

Utilizing NanoStrike™ technology throughout our campuses and district facilities allows us to enhance our current infection prevention and control protocols during the COVID-19 pandemic and improve indoor air quality for our students and staff,” said Dr. Tory Hill, SISD Superintendent.

The total cost for the units is $475,832 and will be purchased using Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) grant funds awarded to SISD.  The units should arrive within the next two weeks and will be mounted by Sweeny ISD maintenance staff.
